“Loch Ree Practice”
Loch Ree Practice is a well established practice based within the purpose built new facilities of the Waverley Medical Centre, Dalrymple Street, Stranraer.
We have been in our new premises from July 2002 and this has enabled us to provide both patients and staff alike with excellent facilities and the opportunity to improve the level of services which we provide.
Waverley Medical Centre has disabled access to all levels, including a lift to the first floor, should this be required. All surgeries are situated on the ground floor and
Loch Ree Practice is one of three practices working within the building.
The Practice comprises two full time general practitioners, Dr Simon Reid & Dr Robbie Murphie, one part-time general practitioner; Dr Jenny Lee. Dr Claire Davey who works Monday – Thursday, and Dr Ian Young who works Monday, Tuesday, half day Thursday and all day Friday are Salaried GP's.
Loch Ree Practice is a training practice and we are proud of our tradition of training General Practitioners. These doctors, who would be attached with the Practice, are known as Specialist Trainees. We also have medical students attached to the Practice for general experience just prior to their final exams.
We have three Practice Nurses; Cherith Reid – Nurse Practitioner, Chris Enos – Practice Sister & Wilma McGill – Practice Nurse. We also have Caroline Maxwell, our Health Care Assistant.
All these members of the Nursing Team help to provide both ongoing care in Chronic Disease and illness in their Nurse Clinics and also a level of acute care where appropriate. They also help provide assessment, advice and information to our patients on specific aspects of health such as Well Woman, Well Man & Lifestyle.
We have a full attached compliment of Community Nursing Staff and also within the Waverley Medical Centre we have the benefit of the Treatment Room Nursing Staff who are available for such services as dressings, blood tests, travel advice, minor surgery and other procedures.
Our administration staff is led by the Waverley Medical Centre Manager – Kerry Irving, our Senior Practice Administrator is Claire Webber and the rest of our Reception Team includes Margaret MacIntyre, Fiona Scobie, Rachel McGhie, Yvonne Lees, Mhairi Lammie and Jacqueline McLean.
You will see from information on the website which clinics are available and at what time, information on how to register, appointments, how to request a home visit, information about Out of Hours Services, Prescription Ordering, Data Protection etc.
